HP Pavilion DV6 Windows 8 Driver

This drivers refer to :
HP Pavilion DV6-xxxx , I need to clarify this to avoid confusion with HP pavilion DV6xxx series. The difference is the dash "-" sign.

This model, HP pavilion DV6-xxxx is not yet tested by HP with windows 8 so there are no official windows 8 drivers released for this model. Here, i listed the drivers base on my research and it's specification. Do let me know if there are problems with the drivers.

Note: Install according to order given below.

GRAPHIC
There are 2 main drivers which is NVIDIA and AMD (ATI) drivers. While the essential drivers was Intel HD 3000 Graphic. Nvidia and intel wouldn't be roblem since you can directly download it from the manufacture site. The common problem normally happen to AMD graphic chip.

Application Crash/Freez general solution

This is general post about application that crash/freez. I write this post as a reply to this comment:

1.Uninstall and reinstall.
-One of the common thing to do is  to unistall and reinstall the software. Restart your PC and see if it fix it.

Complete unistall guide: (make restore ponit first!)
Unistalling via control panel is not completely remove all the files.
(example ms office)
-unistall from control panel. -office 2007
-remove form program file -c:\program files\office 2007
-remove from registy (click start select run and type REGEDIT) and the rest read here

2. System Restore:
-this is also a popular solution. You can read it here.

3. Low memory capacity and background running program:
- RAM require to support any application that run in your system. If there are too many application running at the same time, it will consume your memory and causes crash/freez/slow performance. Some of you maybe know or don,t that when you start your PC, there are programs that automatically start. The solution is

a. Remove unnecessary startup program:  
- Click start and run type MSCONFIG (win xp)  click start and type MSCONFIG on search box (win 7)
-  Select STARTUP, there you will see many programs that run when your PC start.
-So, remove any unnecessary programs by uncheck the checkbox. It will speedup your PC and may solve your crash problem.
-NOTE: it is important to differentiate which is the system file and which is not. Example AdobeARM - you can remove this.


b. END process at Task manager.
-open task manager by right click at taskbar and select Task Manager or press CTRL + Alt + Del
-select Process, look if there high memory usage. Right click on unncessary program and select end task.

The good thing and The bad thing abou A and B.

Good:
-it will speed up your pc
-and it may solve your problems.

Bad
-there are problem to check which you have to terminate and not to.
(normally i use google to check it)

4. High temparature: -well get urself a fan.

5. Virus - antirus etc( suggestion: avira and malwarebyte)

NEC PC-LW900DD DRIVERS

NEC PC-LW900DD is one of the nec product which most of the support is in the Japanese website. Due to request on my Facebook page I'd made some research to find  information and drivers for this model.

Instruction
For windows XP download and install directly.
for win vista and 7:
1. Download and extract file.

3. look for Graphic adapter or controller marked with yellow --or standard vga
4. Right click and select update driver. Select 2nd Option.
5.  select browse and point to the extracted driver folder. continue with on screen instruction untill installation finish.



SOUND:
ADI Soundmax Drivers.
There are 3 drivers released by NEC which match the LW900DD hardware ID. I recommend to install the first drivers.

Sometimes for windows XP, some model require MS-UAA patch before installing the audio drivers. You can download MS_UAA from here. But i think this model doesn't need this patch. If you do install this patch, restart before installing audio.

For windows Vista and windows 7, There are no official driver release for this model. But using the same drivers as windows XP, you can install the drivers by using this method(WINDOWS 7 AND WINDOWS VISTA) (just follow the tutorial by using the driver here and do not use the driver on the tutorial page.

For Audio, there are many way to install audio since there are no official driver release, I had posted a general guide to install Conexant  CX20468-31 AC97 Audio driver For windows 7 but from my experience with HP/Compaq product we just need to install the Vista or XP driver and this method work on most v2000 model.

First Download the XP and Vista Driver:
Windows XP Driver: Downlod (SP32864)
Windows Vista Driver: Download (SP35811)

INSTALLATION:
-------------------
1. Let try install the vista driver first. Right click on SP35811 and aelect properties.
2. Select COMPATIBILITY and select run this program in compatibility mode for - select windows vista.
3. Click APPLY then OK, right click again on SP35811 and select run as admin - continue with the installation.

IF failed - lets try with windows XP Driver.

1. Run the SP32864 -i will resulting an error - ignore it.
2. Open device manager by click start on the search box type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter.
3. On the device manager right click on AUDIO CONTROLLER with yellow and select UPDATE DRIVER.
4. Select "browse my computer for device driver".
5. Click Browse and point to the C:\SWSetup\SP32864 and cotinue with on screen instruction.
